Who We Are
My mother, Bobbi Irie began Jobara in the early 1980's and Jobara was known for it's beautiful persians and exotic shorthairs. My Mother specialized in black smokes and shaded cameos. I grew up watching her groom and show stunning cats at CFA catshows. While I admired my mother's undeniable skills in the showhalls, it was the time we spent with kittens that I cherished the most. I learned from her incredible, gentle hands how to be a great breeder and she was my first mentor in the cat fancy.
I'm Jade Kleider and together we make up the mother/daughter team that IS Jobara Devons. While persians and exotics are wonderful... after moving to SLC, from Hawaii with her long hair program, my mom would eventually make an offer that changed the course of our lives. In 2003, my mother offered to let me pick a kitten of a different breed. Maybe we could show her in Premiership together?
How We Began
Dilettante's Snow Ruby of Jobara was the cutest little white snowball of pixie magic I had every seen! We were smitten and showed her to a RW (Regional Winner) as a kitten, then GC (Grand Champion), and BWR (Breed Winner), and GP (Grand Premier). Ruby began a love and devotion to Devons that is at the heart of Jobara.
It was inevitable that I would convince my mother to venture on a new course, and together we began a Devon program and have competitively shown and bred Devon Rex since 2004. We are active in numerous cat clubs-Utah Purebred Cat Fanciers, Utah Cat Fanciers, Devon Rex Breed Club (we both have served as BOD officers), CFA Devon Rex Breed Council Members. Bobbi is Show manager for Utah CFA shows, and we both actively mentor new Devon breeders.
We are fully committed to a legacy of producing beautiful, healthy Devons that uphold the high CFA standards set for our breed. Together we focus on efforts to further public awareness about our breed and work with other dedicated breeders who share the same goals.

How We Work
Our focus is on developing the beautiful balance that makes our Devons a cut above the rest. That delicate harmony is achieved through decades of experience with Devon Rex. Our priority to healthy cats who have sweet personalities and are absolutely enchanting to behold is what sets Jobara apart.
We pride ourselves in the special individual attention we are able to give each of our kittens within our home. They are raised "under-foot" in a stimulating environment where they are constantly handled and coddled. We are incredibly selective in the planning and pairing of our litters, and have very limited litters each year. Our goal as a cattery is to protect and promote our breed as a whole, and to leave a legacy for the future of our breed, not to produce numerous kittens. Though many breeders exist today, our emphasis must be on education and the quality of our Devons, not quantity.
Breeding cats in our program are DNA tested by Optimal Selection for: blood type, genetic diversity, Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and Congenital Myasthenic syndrome (CMS), and 40+ other less common ailments. Our cats are also regularly screened by echocardiogram for HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) by a Board-licensed cardiologist. We also test for patellar luxation. Outside of the most excellent veterinary care we provide our cats with a varied and balanced diet. We feed a combination of high-grade grain-free kibble, and wet food. Our cats appreciate freeze dried snacks and churu treats!
Our kittens are introduced to lots of different sounds and movement from an early age to build confidence and strong character. Jobara kittens are nurtured and socialized into playful and outgoing imps that are usually ready to join their new families by 16 weeks.
Jobara Devons kittens will have completed FVRCP vaccinations, be microchipped, spayed/neutered, and health checked by a licensed veterinarian. We NEVER ship our kittens, but we can arrange for our kittens to be transported in-cabin personally to some major airports across the USA.
